Nobody gave us a handbook for adulthood
What will you take away
We learn how to study, work, make decisions and build careers. But nobody really teaches us how to deal with failure, changing relationships, family expectations, exhaustion, loneliness or simply figuring out what comes next.
The Life Manual Project is a collective attempt to write some of that handbook ourselves.
For this edition, we are bringing together doctors to explore adulthood not through their professional expertise, but through their lived experience.
Over the course of two hours, you will:

Step outside your professional role and reflect on questions that rarely come up in everyday conversation.

Exchange experiences and perspectives with other doctors.

Contribute to a collective exploration of work, relationships, family, failure, rest, loneliness and asking for help.

Help shape the next edition of The Life Manual.
What will happen
The session moves through a series of questions about everyday adulthood.
Participants will individually reflect on prompts, contribute their experiences anonymously, move through different thematic stations and collectively help shape the material into the next edition of The Life Manual.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
The Life Manual Project is building a growing archive of how different communities experience and navigate adulthood.
Your written contributions during the workshop will be anonymous. They may become part of the published Life Manual and may also contribute to future research, exhibitions and other public programmes developed from the project.
